zigzag journey

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… the un-assuming odyssey of a donkey learning to see…

I’m in Nashville

This week, I’m in Nashville, TN, attending my Vietnam unit reunion.  Last year my company, A Company, 1st/20th, 11th Infantry Brigade, decided to join our division reunion–the Americal–here in the home of the Grand Ole Opry.  (We’re going there tonight.)

This is a time for making connections and friendships, talking with my combat buddies, and maybe being an encouragement to guys who have seen their lives go south since coming “home” to the unwelcoming arms of an angry nation.  There has been some healing in hearts, but much left to be done.  Unfortunately, some who could benefit from these times never come.  Vietnam veterans are dying off faster than any single vet group.  Pray for our vets.

We’ll be home Sunday night, and there will be a new Journey post up soon.
